July 27, 2009: President Tony
Allers received the following email from former President Ronny Douglas.
Thank you so much for
your prayers! Constant prayers have kept me on the right side of the
sod. Prayer is the most powerful tool known to man. We serve an awesome
God who hears our prayers. “The prayers of a righteous man are powerful
and effective”
I have missed the business of TPMIA. It has a history of some great men
and women who have dedicated their time and efforts to insure that
jurisdictions work toward a common goal.
Although missing this past 15 months of business, my concentration has
been on getting better. My surgery this past October found the surgeons
removing my right lung, part of my diaphragm, part of the pericardium
around my heart and 5 ribs. My last CT scan showed two very small spots on
my left lung. The oncologists said it was not consistent with
mesothemolia and I shouldn’t worry about it. They are going to scan me
again next month to make sure it hasn’t changed.
Currently, I am taking physical therapy and do about an hour of cardio
exercises three days a week which is getting me much stronger. Other
than the constant pain from the bone removal and scar tissue I am doing
pretty well. I even caught a 5 pound bass last week! We have bought a
little cabin on Ky Lake and we are trying to spend as much time as
possible there.
It is great to hear from you. Tell all the gang hello from me and give
them my best. Keep me posted on current meetings. Hopefully, my schedule
will let me attend one soon.

| Important Announcement
New Service added. We are beginning a new
service on www.tpmia.org:
we are providing a discussion page where questions, answers and
comments regarding our industry can be exchanged.
[See it here.] This is a
service our incoming (2007) President, Mickey Arp, requested. Keep checking back - in the days ahead we will launch several
discussion topics called "Threads." Mickey wants
all visitors to our website to be eligible to participate -
this is not
"for members only." All visitors to this site are
invited to participate. |
| Mickey has expressed interest in
code interpretations
- he asks if there are differences within
our Middle Tennessee area, within our State, Region 8 or in
jurisdictions around the country? |
| We will also be publishing your reports about
new products:
your experiences with them, your questions and comments about them, your
words of caution and your successes with them. |
| We will be posting your questions, answers and comments on this
page. They will be separated into subjects (called
"Threads")
and published on the new page. |
